Ajax youngster Gabriel Misehouy will have a ‘big bag of money’ waiting for him at Manchester City, who are likely to loan him out to another of their clubs.
That’s according to Voetbal International and journalist Freek Jansen, who shows annoyance at the youngster and his failure to sign a new contract with the Dutch side.
Misehouy has been in negotiations with Ajax over a new deal for months, with his current deal set to expire in the summer.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a move away as a result, with Manchester City consistently reported to be keeping an eye on him and considering a move.
That’s led to considerable annoyance in the Netherlands, with Jansen in particular unimpressed by what’s going on.
He writes that there is ‘undoubtedly a big bag of money’ ready in England for the player, where Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City are all interested.
Misehouy, though, would be moving to one of those clubs for a role ‘as the sixtieth player in the hierarchy’ and a ‘future rental property’ to boot.
He questions what more Misehouy could want, insisting the reality at Ajax is that if you’re good enough you’re old enough, implying that he simply hasn’t shown he’s good enough yet.
He believes that there is a ‘considerable chance’ Misehouy will soon reveal that he lacks a plan at Ajax but that is a fallacy often used by those ‘scheming for the stage’.
It seems he believes that Misehouy is just trying to set the stage for a move to Manchester City or somewhere else, rather than working hard to prove himself at Ajax.
Whether that’s because he’s seduced by the move, the money, or perhaps even both is up for debate but in the Netherlands at least, it seems frustration is continuing to grow about the player and his failure to sign a new deal.
