It appears Marcelo Bielsa will indeed be Leeds United’s manager for the upcoming season.
After a couple of weeks of speculation, the Argentinian coach is now expected to take over at Elland Road very soon, according to César Luis Merlo, a journalist for TYC Sports in Argentina.
Taking to Twitter to break the news, the reporter explains that Bielsa will return to management after his fiasco at Lille during the 2017-18 season, and will sign at Leeds United for one year, with the option of renewing his deal for another campaign.
The announcement is expected to be made official once the contracts have been reviewed, which we assume shouldn’t take too long to do.
Prior to struggling with Lille, the controversial manager spent time at Marseille and Athletic Bilbao, and was the Chile manager during the 2010 World Cup.
He was also extremely briefly Lazio’s manager in 2016, quitting after just two days in charge.
