Over the past few days, there has been a return of the stories sending Victor Osimhen to Manchester United following last summer’s attempts from the Premier League side.
The Nigerian striker seems to be one of the favourites to take over the number nine spot at Old Trafford once the season ends, but he will be costly.
That’s why he was never an option in January, but there are some suggesting Manchester United are doing what they can to get in pole position to lure him to England.
In fact, some go as far as saying the Red Devils are ready to invest more than €100m on him, which would be a huge fee, although many believe he is worth more than that.
Either way, with Napoli comfortably making their way to a Serie A title, as they sit 13 points clear of Inter after 21 games played, this summer could be the ideal time for him to move to Manchester United, or just leave Naples in general.
That’s the belief of former agent Enrico Fedele, who was speaking to Televomero, relayed by Area Napoli.
He said: “If I were Luciano Spalletti, I would leave Naples. He would leave the Azzurri as a winner. He would go down in history by winning the Scudetto. The same goes for Aurelio De Laurentiis. He should leave when his management touches the highest point, the apex, only in this way, will he have eternal glory.
“As for Osimhen, we know how football works. You hit the post, you’re a failure. You hit the post and score, and you become an idol of the fans. It’s better for him to leaves Napoli now that he’s at the top, admired and acclaimed by most.”
