Udinese striker Beto has been left out of the squad for Monday’s clash with Salernitana as he finalises a transfer to Everton.
That’s according to Tutto Udinese, who say Everton and Udinese are in total agreement over the transfer hence the player’s absence from the squad.
They report that the recent clash against Juventus will be Beto’s last for the Italian side as he is now ‘one step away from Everton’.
The Toffees have ‘reached the agreement’ with the Friulians on the basis of a €30m plus bonuses deal that matches their demands for the striker.
The closure of the operation is now ‘one step away’ and as such he has been left out of the squad for Monday’s clash with Salernitana.
That makes sense as reports earlier today, which also insisted that Beto was on his way to Everton, stated that he would be travelling for a medical on Sunday and even signing his contract with Everton on Monday.
It would have been bizarre, and a real negative sign for the Toffees hopes of getting the deal done, if the player had been a part of the squad for Udinese’s next game.
He seemingly isn’t, though, and perhaps Everton fans can finally start to believe that they’ve got the striker they’ve long been looking for.
