Earlier this month, Corriere di Bologna reported Everton interest in Bologna full-back Emil Holm.
The newspaper were certain that during talks for the Swede, the Italian side asked for Nathan Paterson in a swap. The Toffees defender could’ve been a replacement for Holm, whose stock has grown this season.
Holm has registered four assists in Serie A, also scoring once this season under Vincenzo Italiano. He initially broke into Italian football under the same manager after doing well at Spezia.
It now seems like the back-and-forth involving Everton and Bologna hasn’t stopped.
How Everton are now trying to get fullback

Il Resto del Carlino – relayed by TuttoBolognaWeb, report the Serie A side have explored the possibility of signing Beto late in January.
Bologna are considering signing a striker and touched base with Everton for the 27-year-old. Don’t rule out Beto’s agent being behind it, after he fled Istanbul.
BolognaSportNews add information of their own to this, suggesting that the Merseyside club asked for Holm as part of the deal again. The two clubs have differing demands over possible deals and that will make agreements difficult.
Bologna are currently only looking to sign Beto on an initial loan with an option to buy. Everton, meanwhile, only want the Guinea Bissau international’s permanent exit.
So far, the Toffees’ demands have been holding up the striker’s transfer. Last week, A Spor were sure that a move to Fenerbahce fell through specifically because of that.
Beto’s agent was spotted in Istanbul too, which suggests that his entourage is probably working overtime to secure an Everton exit.
At the same time, Holm is a key player for Bologna and a transfer late in January would be difficult.
