Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville has shared his delight at how things are going at the club, believing they have the best fans in England.
The Dutchman has been speaking to De Volkskrant in his homeland after something of a breakthrough season with the Whites this year.
He joined them from Feyenoord in September 2020 but has fully established himself as a first team regular this season, making 20 appearances in the Premier League so far.
Summerville has repaid the faith shown in him too, bagging four goals and two assists and contributing to 17% of Leeds goals in the league this season.
That’s earned him a growing support among Leeds fans, who believe he could be a star of the future alongside the likes of Wilfried Gnonto.
The player himself is more than aware of that support from the stands and has praised them in return, believing they provide the best atmosphere in England at Elland Road.
“When I signed for Leeds, I said to my dad: I’m going to be a player people come to the stadium for. That is slowly but surely coming true, but I had to change,” he said.
“Leeds has the best atmosphere in England, it’s a really big club. The fans love me, I love the fans. The stadium is always full.
“I don’t regret my choice. I now play against guys I play against in FIFA. Salah, Van Dijk, De Bruyne, Haaland.
“I admire and respect them, but when I play against them I think: Today you are going to do it Cry. You’re the best on the pitch.”
