Everton aren’t quite yet in a serious relegation fight, but the atmosphere around the club continues to be gloomy.

Rafael Benitez wasn’t welcomed as a new manager by many, but even some of those who were willing to give him a fair chance are becoming frustrated with the Spaniard. Defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend was a new blow, and some attention will now turn to the transfer window.

Lucas Digne’s time at Everton is clearly coming to an end, and there’s been multiple links with clubs in Serie A. SportMediaSet report that Inter Milan are keen, and it’s thought Matias Vecino could be used in the deal.

Everton have been linked with Vecino since Carlo Ancelotti was in charge at Goodison Park, and given the midfielder’s contract expires in the summer, Inter would be tempted to do business with him.

According to the claims, Benitez ‘likes’ the player, which would be handy for Inter Milan.

Should they not be able to use Vecino in a deal, Inter would only be interested in a ‘dry loan’ for Digne, meaning they don’t want to commit to signing the player permanently.
