Fiorentina’s Jonathan Ikone spent the second half of last season on loan at Como and has been a target for Southampton at the end of window.
The winger hasn’t really made a mark in Serie A, having constantly struggled for consistency at Fiorentina as well by scoring only 16 times in 138 appearances in all competitions.
La Viola are now prepared to cut their losses on the player and Corriere Fiorentino report that Southampton are an appealing destination for him.
Turkish club Rizespor and French side Paris FC are also interested, but the 27-year-old would rather move to St Mary’s despite the Saints being in the Championship.
Southampton have put forward €4m for a permanent move already and FirenzeViola are confident about the transfer happening.
They claim the Frenchman is on his way to the South Coast club, with the Florence side keen on getting rid of him and using the €4m earned in signing more players late in the transfer window.
Ikone is mainly a right winger who likes to cut inside, but can also play on the left flank and in attacking midfield.
