Until Harry Kane leaves Tottenham, the idea of another big name striker ending up at Spurs seems nearly impossible.

The club, thanks to Fabio Paratici, have already bolstered considerably this summer, which also means they spent a fair chunk of money.

However, should £100m+ land in their bank account before the end of the transfer window, a new man would have to come in to replace the departing England international, and the belief was it would be either one of Dusan Vlahovic or Lautaro Martinez.

Recent reports have suggested the club have since moved on from the Serbian, especially since it appears that Harry Kane will stay in London this summer, but the idea of Martinez being the target of another offer from Paratici in the coming weeks refuses to disappear, mostly thanks to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Already suggesting as much on Wednesday, the newspaper reiterate their stance today (Thursday), by briefly acknowledging the fact a return could be on the cards, regardless of whether Inter want to sell their player or not.

They write that ‘despite the €70m offers from Atlético and Tottenham (who will relaunch), the number 10 and the club reiterated they will return any temptation to the sender’.

This is somewhat backed up by Sport Italia, via their journalist Alfredo Pedullà and relayed by Inter News, who reported that Spurs are still trying here and there to find a way to sign the Argentine.

They said: “Tottenham also made concrete attempts before the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea. Once the Belgian was sold, the Nerazzuri removed Lautaro Martinez from the market, to the liking of the player, who never put his foot down. He will have the increase to 6 plus bonuses, this is to be decided.

“Atlético Madrid and Tottenham have also tried in the last few days, trying to get into some hypothetical dispute between Inter and the player’s entourage. But the situation is serene and Martinez is happy The contract is now an obligatory step”.
