Two days ago, Bild reported Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a concrete offer for Amine Adli. They also stated he’s asked Bayer Leverkusen to negotiate with the Premier League club.
Rheinische Post covers the 25-year-old’s situation at the German club as Wolves emerge as a contender to sign him.
The attacking midfielder wants to move to the Premier League, where Wolves are considering a move for him.
Adli has already talked about the possibility of leaving Erik ten Hag’s side this summer. He then indicated his wish to stay at Bayer Leverkusen during their trip to Brazil, but that’s no longer the case because of Wolves’ interest.
Last November, Adli extended his contract until 2028, but he could leave in this window, mainly due to his restricted role at the club.
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has indicated the player could be allowed to leave, even though they believe he can have an important role under Ten Hag.
“Of course, players who have been with the club for a while consider their personal situation and their chances of playing time. We know that we have many good players who are of interest to other clubs,” he said.
“That’s true, and that’s certainly the case with Amine as well. There’s no need to beat around the bush. He has the ambition to be an important player and to play a lot. That’s why things are perhaps a bit more open for him at the moment, even though I believe he has the qualities to play a very important role for us.”
The Bundesliga club invested €7.5m to buy the Morocco international in 2021 and are now said to be aiming to triple or quadruple their investment [€22.5-30m]. Wolves, if they are determined, can quickly snatch Adli from Bayer Leverkusen.
