James Rodriguez may already have a new club lined up after his departure from Olympiakos followed a trend he started at Everton.
That’s according to Colombian journalist Juan Felipe Cadavid, who believes the midfielder may be on his way to South America or the USA.
Rodriguez was released from his contract with Olympiakos yesterday, with the player and the Greek club announcing he was departing ahead of his contract ending in the summer.
The Colombian star had been with Olympiakos since September last year, when he joined from Qatari club Al-Rayyan after a year playing in the Middle East.
He’s yet to get his career back on track, having started brightly at Everton, Al Rayyan and Olympiacos before falling out of favour and eventually leaving before the end of his contract.
That has become something of a trend for the player in recent years and Cadavid believes it may be a hint that Rodriguez already has something else planned.
“James left Everton a year before the end of his contract, he left Al-Rayyan two years before the end of his contract and now he is leaving Olympiakos two and a half months before the end of his contract,” Infobae report him saying.
“Does he have something ready? It would have to be in the United States or in South America, because in Europe he cannot play until next season.
“I’m thinking, June, next FIFA date, if he’s not playing, I suppose that Professor Lorenzo won’t take him into account.”
