Roma manager Jose Mourinho has ‘received some offers’ to leave the club and one of those is from Chelsea.

That’s according to former Italy defender Fulvio Collovati, who believes the Blues may have been in contact with the Portuguese boss about a return to Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho has found himself coming in for criticism over the last few months after constant comments in the media about his squad and the job he is doing at the Italian club.

He has regularly complained about the quality of the squad available to him as well as insisting he believes Roma fans aren’t appreciating the job he is doing given they are third in the table at present.

Those comments have come into particular focus as several reports have linked him with a potential return to Chelsea.

They’re currently struggling under Graham Potter with the pressure building on him following the weekend defeat to bottom of the table Southampton.

That’s led to calls for him to be sacked and replaced, leading to speculation about a potential third stint in charge for Mourinho.

Collovati beliefs that may be in the pipeline, and the manager’s comments are an indication of that.

“I saw his face, strangely sad, as if he had something inside, as if he were brooding,” he told RAI Sport, relayed by Calciomercato.

“I’m not convinced, but in my opinion he has received some offers and one of these is that of Chelsea. And maybe some national teams. Maybe he’ll put his hands up to leave at the end of the season.”
