If you’ve followed the Italian media’s sports coverage over the last week or so, there’s a good chance you would have come across reports explaining Napoli’s interest in Lille star Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian is yet to say ‘yes’ to the Serie A club, according to Area Napoli, which is why Gennaro Gattuso’s side are also looking at other forwards.

One such player is Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, who is capable of playing anywhere up front.

The 27-year-old is represented by Pinhas Zahavi, who shares a good relation with Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent, Fali Ramadani. The website states the defender’s representative is involved in helping the Italian side strengthen their squad this summer.

It’s claimed the Naples club have conducted an ‘exploratory survey’ with the Crystal Palace man’s entourage as they already sought him out in the past.

Area Napoli are of the belief the Palace player’s valuation has dropped to €50m due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is roughly the figure Aurelio De Laurentiis is willing to spend on Osimhen.

The report makes it clear there’s only preliminary discussions for Zaha and only time will tell whether the Ivory Coast international will merely be a suggestion for Napoli or if there will be more developments on this case.

Napoli may not pursue the Eagles star if they manage to complete Osimhen’s signing, and it also remains to be seen how interested Crystal Palace would be in selling their star.
