Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is on Borussia Dortmund’s list of players to replace Jude Bellingham, but his price may prove to be a problem.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say that the Chelsea man is valued at over €33m, a figure Dortmund are unlikely to pay as they’re already negotiating other deals down from that figure.
The newspaper explains that the German side are targeting Ajax’s Edson Alvarez but so far don’t want to match Ajax’s €33m asking price, with sporting director Sebastien Kehl ‘trying to negotiate’ that figure down.
Thus, it seems unlikely he or Dortmund would be willing to pay for Gallagher, who is valued at €32m but likely to ‘exceed’ that figure.
The midfielder is on Dortmund’s list of options to replace Bellingham as he can play as a six, eight and a ten and is likely to be on the list of players for sale at Chelsea as they desperately try to sell off their bloated squad and balance the books.
Thus, there is a feeling that there is a deal there to be done but at this moment in time Dortmund, despite being flush with cash, are unlikely to match Chelsea’s demands.
