On Monday, HLN in Belgium brought us an update in the Dedryck Boyata-Celtic renewal story, explaining the defender, who featured against Panama for his country on Monday, held all the power.
Celtic attempted to try and get everything wrapped up before the World Cup, to no avail, and now there’s a belief he could be a target for Lazio in Serie A.
The Italian side are looking for someone to replace Stefan De Vrij, whose contract with them runs out at the end of the month, and while Boyata isn’t their first port of call, with that being Jannik Vestergaard, he’s on their list.
With just one year left on his contract, he would be the cheaper option of the two, with Il Tempo claiming €3-4m could be enough to convince Celtic to sell.
That seems a bit low to us, especially since the Bhoys are currently attempting to keep him around.
The 27-year-old was a regular under Brendan Rodgers last season, featuring 39 times for Celtic, scoring three goals and picking up three assists.
