It’s no secret Uli Hoeness isn’t the biggest fan of José Mourinho, especially following the way Bastian Schweinsteiger ‘was treated’ during his time at Manchester United.

The Bayern Munich president claimed the Portuguese manager treated the German midfielder ‘like a leper’, and his view hasn’t changed much over time, once again criticising the Special One as a person.

The comments, to Süddeutsche Zeitung and relayed by SportBild in Germany, come after Bayern Munich’s basketball team fired their head coach Sasa Djordjevic; a move Hoeness agreed with, drawing a comparison between the Serbian and the Manchester United manager.

He said: “You have to make that the coach isn’t a superstar, but someone who integrates with the group. I’ll take an example in football: José Mourinho at Manchester United is a superstar, but he hasn’t taken the club any further. Everything is always focused on him.”

That might be a bit harsh from Hoeness, as the former Chelsea manager managed to win two trophies last season, taking Manchester United back into the Champions League, with the Red Devils currently en route for second place in the Premier League this time around.

Still, you can see where he’s coming from, as Mourinho is well known for creating headlines via his press conferences.
