Bayern Munich are interested in Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, according to Bild.
The forward will return to Old Trafford after spending the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. Rashford is unlikely to be included in Ruben Amorim’s plans next season and is expected to leave Manchester United again.
The outlet says Bayern’s interest in him was just speculation months ago, but now the ‘rumour becomes serious’.
Bild relay information from their own podcast, Bayern Insider, where it was reported the Bavarian club are ‘actually looking’ at the 27-year-old.
The Manchester United player prefers to operate on the left wing and can also be used up front and Bild say this makes him a perfect fit for Bayern.
It’s claimed Bayern scouts have included Rashford in their long list for this summer. He’s behind Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola, Athletic’s Nico Williams (22), AC Milan’s Rafael Leão and Liverpool’s Luis Díaz.
According to the report, their scouts are well aware of the England international’s profile and the possibilities of signing him. Manchester United are said to be asking for €45m.
The Bundesliga winners are working on signing VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade. Even if he were to join them, Bild states Bayern signing Rashford ‘would be good for the squad’.
Recent claims from Spain have stated Rashford’s priority is to join Barcelona. Williams and Díaz are currently ahead of the Englishman in the La Liga winners’ list.
