Bayern Munich are interested in the signing of Manchester City fullback Kyle Walker, according to reports from the German media today.
Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg writes that the 33-year-old is ‘on the list’ the Bundesliga giants have for the summer transfer window.
It’s claimed that Bayern Munich are ‘aware of the fact he could leave’ Manchester City, and that’s why his name was ‘discussed internally’.
The German side, however, are yet to make any moves for the signing. Plettenberg claims the club have still not made any contact with Walker’s entourage, despite monitoring him ‘closely’.
However, Sport 1 have a different stance, as Patrick Berger claims there have been ‘initial talks between club and player’s side’, with the England star ‘ready for a new adventure’.
The fullback’s contract with Manchester City expires next year, and that’s why the treble winners may feel pressured to sell him now. Since he’s 33, his value on Transfermarkt is of only €15m.
Walker remained an important player in the club’s best season ever, with 39 games played, despite the groin injury which left him sidelined for a while.
Now we shall see whether the player is that keen on leaving Manchester City after winning every possible title in English football.
