On Thursday, we covered reports from the Brazilian media which stated Liverpool have made a verbal proposal for Palmeiras youngster Luis Guilherme.
It’s no secret the 18-year-old draws big interest from Europe, and now we see Manchester United being named in that battle as well.
This fresh update comes from journalist André Hernan, who details the race for the Palmeiras youngster.
However, those clubs are expected to have huge difficulty signing Luís Guilherme, as Palmeiras do not want to sell in the near future.
It’s said that in case Manchester United, Liverpool or any other interested club make an offer for him this year, that would be a way to start lining up a potential deal for 2025.
Palmeiras are losing Endrick this summer, and also have Estevão William in Europe’s sights, so they must be careful about losing all their young talents at once.
Luís Guilherme is protected by a €50m release clause, and that’s how his club plan to hold him. Liverpool and Monaco are said to be willing to pay €20m, and whilst that isn’t enough it’d be interesting to see if Palmeiras’ stance changes if the amount creeps higher.
