For Arsenal fans, an away game against BATE Borisov in the Europa League might not mean much, but for the local residents, this is a great opportunity to see one of the big Premier League clubs live.
Season ticket holders will obviously be there, as will a small contingent of travelling Gunners, yet for many who are after single tickets, getting their hands on them is a bit of a nightmare.
Euroradio in Belarus documented the process, and it’s not pretty.
The ticket office, which opens at 10am, only has one desk, and with over 250 people trying to get tickets, this means long queues.
Some fans, eager to see the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny, even got there the night before to ensure they got what they wanted.
For others, who couldn’t make it that early, it’s a long wait.
An hour in, one of the members of the queue is asking for somewhere to complain due to the lack of movement in the queue.
That request delays the proceedings, as the cashier has to send someone to get the book, which is on a different floor.
After about three hours, there are no more tickets.
For the man who was next in line, it’s disappointing: “For seven years, I’ve been rooting for BATE. I wanted to go to this game. I stayed in the queue for almost three hours”.
Apparently, more tickets could be available on Thursday before the game.
However, as Euroradio put it, there’s as much chance of that happening as BATE picking up the win on Thursday evening against Arsenal.
