According to a claim in the Turkish media, Basaksehir are showing an interest in Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier.
The former England international looks surplus to requirements at St James’ Park and could still move on with the Super Lig window only closing on the 13th September.
Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has reported via Sports Digitale on the latest developments regarding the future of the Newcastle United man, and says Basaksehir have stepped in to try and sign the right back. The Istanbul side are still looking to add to their squad before the window closes in Turkey and the 33-year-old is an option.
Only a few days ago we covered reports that Eyüpspor were monitoring the situation with Tripper. The Turkish side only gained promotion to the top flight last season and were looking to add to their squad in the is window.
Besiktas and Fenerbahce have also been linked with the Newcastle United player as they look to bolster their defensive options, and those two clubs would surely be preferable for the player.
Tripper made 39 appearances for the Magpies last season but has struggled to get starts in this campaign. He’s contracted to the Premier League side until next summer.
