Barcelona have long been chasing Adrien Rabiot, whose contract at Paris Saint-Germain will expire after this season.
The Frenchman has already decided against signing a new contract and a few days ago, Mundo Deportivo reported he’s decided to join the La Liga winners.
But his mother, Veronique Rabiot, who is also his agent, wants to select a club for her son which will offer him the best economic deal and sporting project.
Mundo Deportivo journalist Miguel Rico has an update in today’s edition of the Catalan newspaper about the PSG midfielder, and also Ajax’s duo of Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong.
It’s claimed Rabiot is demanding a €10m signing on bonus and a similar salary, while the wages offered to the Netherlands international duo is half or less than half of what others clubs are willing to offer them.
The two Ajax players will cost €75m each and if the Blaugrana cannot sign them next summer, it’s stated they will never be able to do so.
This is when Rico suggests to use the salary and signing on bonus they were planning to offer Rabiot and give it De Ligt and De Jong, so that it can convince them to make a switch to the Camp Nou.
He’s confident the Dutch youngsters are destined for Barcelona, which is why it’s best to offer them better wages rather than making an approach for the PSG player.
