Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has regularly been linked with a move to Real Madrid over the past couple of years or so.
Back in June, Sport stated the La Liga side could move away from trying to sign the 24-year-old, after adding Kylian Mbappé and Endrick to their squad.
Real Madrid’s league rivals Barcelona are now being encouraged to sign Manchester City striker… by their own player.
The suggestion was was shared by Barca’s Marc Casadó during a chat with Jijantes, relayed by Mundo Deportivo.
The newspaper claims the 21-year-old midfielder would like to see the Catalan club make an effort to bring the Norway international to the Camp Nou.
Earlier this year, his club teammate, Pedri, publicly stated he would like to see Haaland at Barcelona. Casadó has now joined the Spain international in encouraging Barca to sign the Manchester City player.
“Following what Pedri said in another interview, I would say Haaland,” he said.
Earlier claims have reported Haaland has a release clause in excess of €150m in his deal at Manchester City. Taking Barca’s financial situation over the past few years into account, it’s highly unlikely for them to spend so big on a player.
The frontman has continued to impress for Pep Guardiola’s side this season, scoring nine goals from four league games so far.
