Catalan newspaper Sport of course have a lot of Barcelona and Celtic related articles in their Thursday edition. Barcelona took a 2-0 victory away from Celtic park on Wednesday night, but Brendan Rodgers’ men gave a good account of themselves.
There’s an ‘obstacle’ in the way, and that’s the fact that Dembele is only 13 years of age. Barcelona know only too well that FIFA have rules against recruiting overseas players under the age of 16.
Despite that, Barcelona will keep an eye on the youngster, but there’s an assumption’some great English club’ is going to swoop in and snap up the Celtic youngster before the Spanish club would be allowed to. Clubs have tried to find ways around the rules at times, but given their recent transfer ban, that’s not really something Barcelona can get involved in.
It’s one less danger out of the way for Celtic as far as Karamoko Dembele is concerned.
