Gremio midfielder Arthur and Sevilla defend Clement Lenglet are the two players that Barcelona had long planned to bring this summer. There could also be opportunities to sign players who impress at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is ‘one of the revelations’ of the World Cup for Serbia. However, Ernesto Valverde’s side were closely following his progress at Lazio during the course of last season.

Barcelona technical secretary Eric Abidal wants to have ‘maximum information regarding the player’ as he is planning on signing the 23-year-old.

The report claims the Spanish outfit have asked the Serie A side to name the price for Milinkovic-Savic. They have already made the ‘necessary arrangements’ to learn the amount.

Lazio have quoted €80m for their star midfielder, but Barcelona feel the price tag mentioned is over the top. They are not the only clubs after Milinkovic-Savic. Mundo Deportivo claims Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus are also ‘after him’.

Milinkovic-Savic scored 15 goals and registered six assists in all competitions for Simone Inzaghi’s side in the 2017/18 season.

If Mundo Deportivo and/or Barcelona think €80m is over the top for Milinkovic-Savic, just wait until they find out the actual asking price is well over €100m.
