Brazil superstar Ronaldinho has revealed he’s thrilled he can inspire players like Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli. The England international has been in stunning form in recent weeks for his club.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, Ronaldinho said when he watched Alli’s volley against Crystal Palace last season he saw it as a goal he would like to score himself. The former Barcelona star he’s happy to inspire players like the Tottenham attacking midfielder, but still he can’t explain how the youngster pulled off the goal.
“I saw Dele Alli’s goal last year and it looked like a goal I would like to score, there’s no explanation for goals like that. It’s very thrilling to inspire someone to such a great goal. I can barely put it all into words,” said the Brazil legend.
Alli has recently been in impressive form for Tottenham, scoring eight goals in nine games for the Premier League side. Yesterday the 20-year-old was on hand to help keep Tottenham in the FA Cup when he levelled the scores late against Wycombe Wanderers.
The youngster has now become instrumental in the Tottenham side despite only joining the club 18 months ago from MK Dons.
