Diego Palacios could be the next player to arrive at Barcelona as one for the future.

Moussa Wague arrived at the Catalan club in 2018 from Belgian side Eupen. Then last month, Barca secured the signing of Ludovit Reis from Groningen.

Now, they’re thought to be looking in the same area, with Mundo Deportivo reporting talks have been initiated to sign Palacios. The 19 year old Ecuadorian fullback spent the last season on loan at Willem in the Eredivisie, but is actually owned by SD Aucas.

The report states talks have started with the Ecuador club, and the player would initially join Barcelona’s B team.

Then the hope would be that he can progress and one day be an option for the senior side. Even if not, the possibility will be there of making a profit on the transfer, another route Barcelona have been seriously looking to go down.

Barca’s scouts have been watching Palacios for both Willem and in international competition.
