While many clubs had a quiet transfer deadline day, it’s fair to say Everton didn’t, bringing in three new players in Yerry Mina, André Gomes (on loan) and Bernard (on a free).

Marca say Barcelona should consider building a monument to Everton, given how much the business helped the club.

Spending over £27m on Mina, the Toffees showed once again they were prepared to open their wallet to back their manager, supposedly seeing off competition from Lyon and Manchester United for his services.

Having also purchased Lucas Digne from Barcelona, Everton now have two former and one current La Liga champions in their squad, as Gomes will return to his former club come the end of the season.

However, he isn’t the only one who could head back to Spain in the future, as Marca on Friday claim the Catalan side included a €60m buy-back clause in the deal sending Mina to Merseyside.

This means that, at any time, Barcelona can slap that amount on the table, and Everton would have to stand aside and allow their defender to discuss terms with his now former side.

Then again, the Goodison Park faithful already know all about these thanks to the Deulofeu saga last summer.
