Barcelona hired a firm to create positive online image about president Josep Maria Bartomeu and other members of the board of directors, as well as damage that of current and former players, including Camp Nou legends.

Caden Ser‘s Catalunya’s program ‘Què T’hi Jugues‘ reports the La Liga winners hired company ‘I3 Ventures’ for this task.

Marca have cited Ser Catalunya and they further explain the company created almost hundred Twitter and Facebook accounts to attack current and former players.

The list includes the likes of Lionel Messi, Gerard Piqué, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Camp Nou legend Xavi and Carles Puyol and many more.

The list of examples includes attacking Messi for not renewing his contract and Piqué for his ‘business with the Davis Cup’.

The company was hired to create a positive image for Bartomeu and other board of directors. According to the program, Barcelona have confirmed the hiring of this company and this scandal may not die down anytime soon.

Meanwhile, former candidate for the Catalan club’s presidency Agustí Benedito has claimed he will file a lawsuit against Bartomeu and he wants answers for this scandal in court.

Benedito responded to a tweet on the matter by with ‘For sure’.
