Antoine Griezmann didn’t have a good match for Barcelona on Wednesday evening.
The Catalan club managed to beat Inter Milan 2-1, despite going a goal down, yet it wasn’t the Frenchman who dragged them back.
Luis Suarez is being seen as the post-match hero, whereas the former Atletico Madrid player is presenting more questions than answers right now.
Catalan newspaper Sport have a series of articles on the situation. In their player ratings it’s Griezmann who came lowest of all for either side, with him being given just 4/10.
Sport say he looked ‘uncomfortable’ and and they state it’s ‘difficult to understand his position’ which ended up in him ‘looking lost’
In a separate section it’s asked ‘What does Griezmann do?’
Whilst it’s accepted he’s under no question when it comes to attitude and effort, there’s still some confusion around how he fits into Barcelona’s system.
Sport say ‘it’s clear’ the player ‘has not yet found his place at Barca’. It’s explained he needs to learn the movement of Suarez and Lionel Messi better, so he can work more seamlessly with the pair.
In a third column, Griezmann is said to be ‘far from his level’, and Barcelona ‘very disappointed’ with what they’ve had from their signing so far.
His form is ‘penalising Barca’ and the World Cup winner ‘has to start to show’ he was worth the money sent to Atletico.
