Two days ago, the Daily Mail claimed that Leicester City could be an option for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembélé to reboot his career.

The France international has struggled with injuries during his time at the Camp Nou, while there have been accusations of unprofessional behaviour.

According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old’s natural talent and age ‘means that there will still be someone somewhere who believes he can save Dembele’s career’. They are of the belief it might be Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers.

If the Foxes were to sign the World Cup winner, Barcelona would have to accept a loan fee and Leicester would also have to pay a chunk of his €12m per year salary.

The Daily Mail’s report sounded more like a suggestion rather than there being actual interest from the Premier League side.

However, the Catalan media, particularly Mundo Deportivo, appear to have been somewhat offended.

Journalist Miguel Rico felt the need to contact the La Liga winners and he states ‘Barca categorically denies’ the possibility of Dembélé joining Leicester.

So, that’s the end of that.
