Brighton & Hove Albion starlet Julio Enciso is undoubtedly one of the great hopes the Paraguayan national team have for the future.
There had already been big excitement about his first performances in his home country, and now with him in the Premier League, there’s even more attention on the 19-year-old.
Now as Paraguay forward Gabriel Avalos was this week interviewed by Versus, he ended up being asked about the Brighton player.
The Argentinos Juniors striker was quizzed about Enciso’s individualism, and claimed that isn’t a problem, especially because the Seagulls forward is very young.
“Julio has great ability, great intelligence, today he’s one of the Paraguayans who has barbaric technique in one-on-ones,” Avalos told Versus.
“But we also have to take into account that he’s very young, he has a great future ahead of him. Obviously, in football you never stop learning things, today at 31 I feel that I still have many things to learn, so Julio with his age has plenty of time to learn and I’m sure little by little he’s going to catch his hand.”
Avalos also claimed that Enciso’s time in the Premier League will help him to improve and bring more to the national team.
“There’s a reason he’s in a league of much higher football, so he’s going to take hold little by little, with time, with peace of mind.”
Enciso joined Brighton in a €11.6m move from Libertad last summer, and it’s well known that the Seagulls had been strongly following him for a long time.
In his time with the Premier League side, the youngster had one goal and one assist in 15 appearances, and still fights for a place in Roberto De Zerbi’s starting line-up. Playing for Paraguay, he has nine caps so far, having made his debut last year.
