Manchester City are set to have a Bahia player on trial soon.
According to Brazilian journalist Venê Casagrande, 16-year-old midfielder Roger Gabriel was invited to have a training period at the English club.
The report claims the teenager is staying at Manchester City for ‘a few days’ in the month of July, taking part in some activities.
Bahia were recently purchased by the City Group, so that’s the kind of move we expect to see more frequently from now on.
Casagrande adds that the City Group ‘already turned down’ some offers for the youngster.
Roger Gabriel may be just 16, but has been playing with older players lately. This year, he featured in the U-20 Copa São Paulo and the U-20 Brazilian league.
The teenager also made his first team debut for Bahia in February, despite not being used by them ever since.
Now he shall have the chance to prove himself at Manchester City and maybe join their academy in the future.
In case he gets approved, he may just have to wait to turn 18 until he completes the move.
