It appears that Cristiano Ronaldo is completely over what happened at Manchester United earlier on this season, and claims to have moved on.

The Portuguese star was part of the Red Devils squad that started the campaign under Erik ten Hag, but the manager and the player quickly fell out, which led to the player’s contract being terminated following an interview with Piers Morgan.

He then went to the World Cup with Portugal, where he lost his starting spot as the competition went on, and eventually signed for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, wanting to put his second Manchester United spell behind him.

Ronaldo has since been called up to the Portugal squad by their new manager, Roberto Martínez, and the veteran striker spoke about the past few months in a press conference, relayed by O Jogo.

Asked about his ‘troubled departure’ from Manchester United, he said: “Sometimes, you have to go through some things to see who is on my side. I have no problem saying, I had a bad career run, but there’s no time for regrets. Life goes on and, doing well or not, it was part of my growth.

“When we are at the top of the mountain, we often cannot see what is below. Now, I’m more prepared and learning that was important, because I had never been through this, like in the last few months. Now I’m a better man.”

Since his arrival at Al-Nassr after his Manchester United exit, the 38-year-old has scored nine goals and picked up two assists in 10 appearances.
