Don Balon have got themselves all wrapped up in a big transfer conspiracy.
Not content with their usual spin-the-wheel transfer rumours, the Spanish website have an even more eyebrow raising claim.
It’s stated Hirving Lozano, who recently represented Mexico at the World Cup, has sent his agent to offer a transfer to Tottenham. Lozano wants to give Spurs the chance to sign him this summer, and the representative has been sent to do just that.
But it’s not because the Mexican wants to play for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, oh no, it’s all part of a plan to actually get a transfer to Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Don Balon claim Lozano hopes such an approach will catch the attention of Spain’s big two and convince them to swoop instead.
A fear of missing out to Tottenham and being in a never ending cycle of regret and knowledge they’d later have to battle Daniel Levy for the player is presumably the thought process Don Balon are using here.
It doesn’t make a great deal of sense.
