Brendan Rodgers’ men will make a trip to Italy today as Celtic face Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Ahead of the clash against Celtic, L’Eco di Bergamo have provided some updates on the Serie A side’s team news.
La Dea have concerns at the back as ‘alarm bells’ are set off, a day before the midweek European tie. Sead Kolašinac and Isak Hien are both ‘at risk’ to take on Celtic.
It’s claimed the centre-back pair are struggling with flu, which makes their involvement at Gewiss Stadium tomorrow doubtful.
The 31-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international missed Atalanta’s league win over Venezia due to flu. Hien, on the hand, started the match but the 25-year-old was replaced after the first half.
Both situations are concerning for the Italian club. This leaves Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini currently with Berat Djimsiti and Ben Godfrey as the only fit centre-backs at his disposal.
Gasperini plans to play three at the back against Celtic. He remains hopeful that at least one of Kolašinac and Hien will be able to recover in time and be involved against Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Celtic are 20th in the table with three points, trailing 11th placed Atalanta by a point.
