Aston Villa loanee Carles Gil isn’t very happy with the lack of game time he’s been having in Spain.
The winger, who is loaned to Deportivo La Coruña until the end of the season, has been struggling to have minutes in La Liga since moving from Aston Villa and wants to change this scenario as quick as possible.
Gil had a muscle injury which left him out of four games, and now has been fighting to get his place back in the team.
Speaking to AS this weekend, the 23-year-old said: “I’m not happy, I’ve been playing little and I’ve been injured. But I’ll change that.”
“I always have better feelings about the injury and the only wish is to have opportunities and to show everything I have.”
The player is still to start a game for the Spanish side. He’s made three appearances for them, summing up only 141 minutes.
Questioned about his move from Valencia to Aston Villa in January 2015, he said: “It was complicated. It was the club of my life, my city… It cost me to take the decision. But I don’t regret anything in this life, whether it turns out to be good or bad; that’s what I felt in that moment.”
Asked about his future, the player who cost Villa £3.5m isn’t very sure of what will it be: “Who knows if I go back there (to Aston Villa), if I stay in England or here… In football, you never know. I don’t think in long term.”
Gil had 34 appearances for Aston Villa in one season and a half, but failed to impress during the campaign against relegation and ended up being loaned out this summer. His contract runs until 2019.
