Aston Villa and West Ham are building ‘detailed reports’ on Sporting Club de Portugal forward Pedro Gonçalves ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to A Bola, who say Aston Villa and West Ham are ‘eyeing’ the forward alongside Bayer Leverkusen.
The newspaper explains that Gonçalves’ is enjoying another superb season for the Portuguese side and that means he has ended up on the radar of several European sides again.
Leverkusen are one of them after making a €30m move for him in the summer, which was quickly rejected by those in charge at Sporting.
He remains in their sights, and they have not ruled out the possibility of returning for the player, who has an €80m release clause.
Sporting don’t expect that to be met but will negotiate from €40m instead, a figure that Leverkusen are considering negotiating for.
They’re not the only ones considering a move, though, as West Ham and Aston Villa, who have also looked at him in the past, ‘continue to prepare detailed reports’ on the player and could come forward with proposals in the summer too.
Whether they’re willing to pay what Sporting want, or can even match those sums, but they’re keeping an eye on him and their interest from last summer has been maintained.
