Sporting shouldn’t be very worried about Aston Villa’s and West Ham United’s interest in Pedro Gonçalves.
Newspaper Record today writes about the future of several Sporting stars, as the Lions may have to make some sales in the summer.
Gonçalves, better known as Pote, is one of them, as he’s been performing well for the Portuguese club for a few seasons now.
Record recalls that West Ham got linked to the player at the start of the month, while Aston Villa have him referenced ‘for a long time’.
Still, Sporting have two reasons ‘to be calm’, with the first being the €80m release clause that protects him, and the other is that they recently bought other 40% of his rights, and now get 90% of a transfer.
That means the Lions will only sell Pote for a very big amount, and if they do, there’s no longer the problem of getting a small percentage of it.
Now it’s up to Aston Villa and West Ham to place their bids for the winger, who has 16 goals and 14 assists this season so far.
