The latest club to have joined the race to sign Samuel Iling-Junior appears to be Aston Villa, with Calciomercato insisting Unai Emery wants the winger.
The England born player showed his worth in the 2-1 win over Salernitana at the weekend, and this has led to a stance change at Juventus about whether or not he should be sold.
The 20-year-old forward was widely seen as a sacrificial lamb in January, with Premier League clubs, seemingly including Aston Villa, keen on him, and there was a belief he would be sold.
Calciomercato point out that five clubs have come forward for Iling-Junior, with Monza and Sassuolo both wanting loans in Italy.
Over in England, Tottenham, Brighton and the aforementioned Aston Villa are ‘interested in discussing the terms of a permanent transfer’.
However, his performances of late have changed things, and now we are told that Cristiano Giuntoli has ‘started the first contacts with the agents’ of the player to discuss a potential contract renewal.
Therefore, it’s ‘difficult, if not impossible’ to discuss a transfer in the coming weeks, with everything changing in the matter of days.
This is corroborated by Quotidiano Sportivo, who state that while the Premier League is ‘courting him’, Max Allegri also ‘appreciates him’, meaning that either an ‘important offer’ is made for him or ‘he stays’.
Furthermore, Sportmediaset, relayed by Il Bianconero, have said the player is ‘no longer on the market’.
In short, Aston Villa need to make a big offer or move on.
