AS Roma are interested in signing Alex Moreno from Aston Villa, according to reports from Italy.
Outlet La Repubblica today writes that the Giallorossi are ‘attempting a swoop’ to get the full-back signed in the January transfer window.
It’s said Roma have Moreno as a ‘concrete target’ especially because Leonardo Spinazzola could leave their squad by the end of the market.
Aston Villa are said to be demanding €8m for the transfer, although they’re also ‘willing to negotiate’ a deal for a loan with a right of redemption.
Moreno has 11 appearances for Unai Emery’s side this season, and the interesting thing about this story is that he was a starter in their last two Premier League games.
The player struggled a little to get minutes at the start of the season, but has been frequently been used by the club since December.
Still, La Repubblica sounds sure that a deal is possible, and it’s now up to Roma to make a convincing bid for both club and player to accept a move in the middle of the season.
What makes this even more interesting is that Leonardo Spinazzola has himself been linked with a move to Aston Villa, meaning that, if all reports are true, there is some room to negotiate a swap + money deal somewhere.
