Nantes are showing an interest in Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout after just one season at Villa Park. With Aston Villa dropping down to the Championship the 23-year-old could return to France, but it could enable the English side to land Nantes forward Yacine Bammou.
Nantes president Waldemar Kita could try to convince Veretout to return to the club, but faces strong competition from Saint Etienne for the midfielder. With Aston Villa tracking Nantes’ Bammou it could give the two clubs an opportunity to seal a deal using the two players.
Bammou is no longer in the plans of Nantes coach René Girard, and the player is now considering leaving the club. Aston Villa will still be keen to bolster squad before the deadline, and L’Equipe recently claimed the Morocco international is a possible option.
Nantes are reported to be prepared to listen to bids for the player, and now Toulouse have pulled out of the race to sign the 26-year-old a move to England could happen with Leeds United and Wolves also showing an interest.
