Aston Villa kick off transfer talks for €5m player

Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sánchez has reportedly been attracting the interest of Serie A clubs.

The English side have already been contacted regarding a transfer of the 30-year-old, according to news from Italy.

TuttoMercatoWeb refers to Sánchez as one of the only players to have decent performances in the club’s disastrous season, when Aston Villa were relegated at the bottom of the table.

The Colombian international, who’s now playing the Copa América Centenário at the United States, has reportedly drawn the attention of Serie A sides Bologna and Fiorentina. The first talks with Villa are said to have already taken place.

Sánchez struggled with a few injuries this season and started only 16 Premier League matches for the English side. According to Transfermarkt, he’s currently worth €5m, and his contract at the club expires in 2018.
