Bought from Lorient by Tim Sherwood, there was a certain amount of expectation on Jordan Ayew last season, especially with his brother also in the Premier League at the same time.

Part of the Aston Villa side relegated to the Championship, the Ghanaian striker took some time off to go back to his home country for some holidays before the new season begins.

This drop to England’s second division will certainly be a challenge for the 24-year-old, and many believe he could leave in the near future, with a few clubs reportedly after him.

One of these, according to Fotospor in Turkey, is Galatasaray who have apparently been “given the green light” by the player for a transfer.

However, looking at the article more closely, there doesn’t seem to be much in it, and they even quote an interview the player gave to GH One TV in Ghana a week ago, where the player dismissed transfer speculation for the time being.

He said: “If rumours are there, I can’t tell you if it’s true or false because I told my agent I don’t want to know anything, I just want to go on holiday and concentrate on my family. When I get back, then we’ll sit down and we’ll talk.”

Considering this was a week ago, perhaps the player has since sat down and talked with his agent about his future, but looking at that Fotospor article, there isn’t a lot in it.

For now.
