Jordan Veretout signed for Aston Villa at the start of the season, but it seems the player already wants to be out of the club following their relegation to the Championship.
According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Veretout doesn’t want to play in the Championship and is looking to return to France, or any other club in a top flight division.
L’Equipe say Aston Villa have changed owners and manager, but Veretout ‘didn’t imagine playing in the Championship’.
It is reported clubs in Ligue 1, La Liga, and Premier League have shown interest in the 23-year-old, who still has four years left on his contract.
The player struggled at the start of the season, but was quite regular under Remi Garde, and again found himself on the bench towards the end of the season following the departure of the French manager.
Aston Villa signed Veretout from Nantes in a £7.50m deal, with the player managing 5 assists in 25 league appearances in his debut season.
