AC Milan’s interest in Clement Lenglet is slowing becoming a big story in the Italian media.
This week, we already covered a couple of stories claiming the Rossoneri have been in touch with Barcelona, who are considering cutting short his loan spell at Aston Villa due to his lack of minutes there.
It’s now Milan News who features a new story on this chase, this time confirming that Lenglet is a target for Milan.
The outlet makes it clear the situation isn’t ‘entirely clear’, as it’s not yet known whether Aston Villa would be willing to let him return early in January.
Even if Unai Emery and Monchi do accept that Lenglet returns to Barcelona, meaning they currently hold all the power, the Catalan side would still need to agree a deal with Milan.
The Rossoneri would first ask the player to take a pay cut to make the move, and would like to land him on a loan with an option to buy.
Most of the situation seem to be in the hands of the Aston Villa, who have only used Lenglet five times this season, all of them in the Conference League.
