With the decisive Europa League games taking place this week, it seems even Aston Villa had some interested in that knock-out stage.

That’s because, according to reports from the Portuguese press, the Villans sent a scout to the match between FC Midtjylland and Sporting.

Newspaper writes that Aston Villa were one of the many clubs who got had an emissary in Denmark for that game.

It isn’t revealed if the Premier League side had a specific target to watch, although that clearly should be the case for such a specific trip.

Following a 1-1 draw in Portugal, Sporting then beat Midtjylland 4-0 away from home. That means there was a lot to see at the Lisbon side, and nothing positive to be taken from the Danish club.

The Lions’ player who stood out the most was Pedro Gonçalves, who created many plays and scored two goals.

Another one who may have drawn some attention was Manuel Ugarte, who was crucial for them to dominate the midfield.

But with Sporting having an overall good performance, basically most of their players may have drawn Aston Villa’s attention.
