Aston Villa are making the final moves for the signing of Monchi, the Spanish media says.
An update from Marca claims that emissaries from the Premier League side have already arrived in Seville to get the deal done.
It’s claimed that there was a meeting between Aston Villa officials and Monchi and Tuesday morning.
Marca claims there are ‘certain differences to correct’. One of them is the director’s contract with Sevilla, which demands compensation in case it’s broken.
It’s also stated that his deal with the La Liga side says he had the ‘obligation to notify’ Sevilla of his exit three months in advance. That means that if he leaves now, he couldn’t work for Aston Villa this summer.
According to Marca, both Monchi and the English club believe Sevilla will ‘relax’ their demands and not require every detail to be respected.
Now that should be solved between the clubs, and the presence from Aston Villa officials is exactly supposed to unblock all those details, so the director can be in charge in this transfer window.
