Despite the fact that Clément Lenglet has been playing a lot more at Aston Villa of late, AC Milan haven’t ruled out trying to make a late move for him.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who explain the Serie A side are desperate to sign someone before the end of the transfer window to bolster their defence.
The name of the Aston Villa loanee, who is owned by Barcelona, remains on their ‘list’, but they know it would be a tough deal to pull off.
One of the reasons for that is the fact that the Villans would have to ‘convince themselves’ of letting the Frenchman go midway through the campaign, which would provide no benefits to them other than weakening their own depth.
Initially only used in the Conference League by Unai Emery, the 28-year-old has now started the last four games in the Premier League, even scoring in the 3-2 loss to Manchester United on Boxing Day.
