Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen, according to the latest reports from the German media.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg is the one featuring the ‘exclusive’ story on Twitter today.
He claims that there’s an ‘agreement in principle’ between Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen, which is for a deal worth around €50m plus performance bonuses.
The report claims that the deal is now close to being done, as despite the competition from Al-Nassr, Unai Emery’s side should win the race.
The rumours linking Diaby to Aston Villa have been intense for just over a week now, and it seems the Premier League side were quite fast in their effort to get him signed.
The first bid from the Villans, which had also been reported by Plettenberg, was of €45m. At that time, it had been claimed that Bayer Leverkusen were demanding €60m for the sale.
Now it seems the clubs managed to find a common ground for the transfer with the help of some bonuses, and it all seems like it might not take long until the deal takes the next steps to send the player to Aston Villa.
